Quick Summary: Resume Boost is a Chrome extension that helps you import job postings from multiple job boards and autofill job applications. We collect minimal data necessary for functionality (job URLs, your profile information, and authentication tokens) and store it locally on your device and securely on our servers. We do not sell your data to third parties.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Resume Boost ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension ("Extension") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our service.
By installing and using Resume Boost, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not install or use the Extension.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Automatically Collected Information
- Job Posting Data: When you use the Extension on supported job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, Welcome to the Jungle, Jobright), we extract and temporarily store:
- Job title, company name, location
- Job description and requirements
- Application URLs
- Posting dates
- Profile Information: When you capture your LinkedIn profile or enter information manually, we collect:
- Name, email address, phone number
- Work experience (job titles, companies, dates, descriptions)
- Education history (schools, degrees, dates)
- Skills and certifications
- LinkedIn profile URL (if captured via LinkedIn)
- Authentication Tokens: Session tokens and authentication credentials to sync your data with our backend service (resumebs.com)
- Usage Statistics (opt-in only): Nothing is sent until you choose Allow in the Extension popup. If you choose No thanks, or never answer, no usage statistics are sent. When allowed, the Extension sends the following to Google Analytics and PostHog:
- The job board you import a job from
- The Extension version
- A random ID for this install (not your account)
Like any web request, Google and PostHog also receive your IP address. Usage statistics never include your profile, your resume, form contents or page content.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
3.1 Core Functionality
- Job Import: Extract and display job postings from supported job boards
- Profile Sync: Store your profile information for autofill across different ATS platforms
- Autofill: Pre-fill job application forms on 13+ ATS platforms (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, Taleo, SmartRecruiters, BambooHR, JazzHR, Jobvite, ADP, SuccessFactors, UKG, Ashby)
- Offline Access: Cache your profile locally using Chrome's storage API for offline autofill capability
3.2 Service Improvement
- Analyze usage statistics to improve Extension performance (only if you chose Allow in the popup)
- Identify and fix bugs
- Add support for new job boards and ATS platforms
- Optimize autofill accuracy
3.3 Communication
- Send service-related notifications
- Respond to support requests
- Notify you of Extension updates
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage
The Extension uses Chrome's storage.local API to cache your profile data on your device. This enables:
- Offline autofill functionality
- Faster form filling
- Reduced server requests
If you add destinations for "Send to AI", the Extension also stores up to five Claude project links or Codex folder paths in storage.local. They are stored only on your device; a Codex folder path is placed in the link that opens Codex when you send a job.
Important: Local storage is tied to your Chrome profile. If you uninstall the Extension or clear Chrome's storage, this cached data will be deleted.
4.2 Server Storage
Your profile information and imported jobs are stored on our secure servers (resumebs.com, hosted on Railway.app) with:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
- Database-level encryption at rest
- Secure authentication using Supabase Auth
- Regular security audits and updates
4.3 Data Retention
- Profile Data: Retained until you delete your account
- Job Postings: Retained for 90 days or until you manually delete them
- Usage Statistics: As listed under "Usage Analytics" in our main privacy policy (https://resumebs.com/privacy)
- Logs: Security and error logs retained for 90 days
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
5.1 We Do NOT Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.

5.3 Send to AI (You Choose the App)
After you save a job, "Copy & Open" copies that job's title, company, location, description and (when it is a web link) posting link to your clipboard and opens the AI app you picked (Claude or Codex). For a new Claude Desktop or Codex chat, the job text is also placed in the link that opens the app. The Extension does not send the job to that app's servers and does not submit anything: the text appears in the app's message box, and it reaches the AI provider only if you send it there, under that provider's terms. Resume Boost servers are not involved.
5.4 When We May Share Your Information
We may share your information only in these limited circumstances:
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share specific information
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or court order
- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Resume Boost, our users, or the public
- Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be notified)
6. Permissions Explained
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
6.1 activeTab
Why we need it: To detect which job board or ATS platform you're on and extract relevant information from the current page only when you click the Extension icon.
What we do NOT do: We do not monitor or access tabs you haven't explicitly activated the Extension on.
6.2 storage
Why we need it: To cache your profile information locally for offline autofill and faster performance.
What we store: Your profile data, authentication tokens, and Extension settings.
6.3 scripting
Why we need it: To inject autofill scripts into job application forms on ATS platforms.
What we do: Only fill form fields with your pre-approved profile information. We do not modify page content otherwise.
6.4 Host Permissions
Why we need it: To function on specific job boards and ATS platforms.
Supported domains:
- Job boards: LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, Welcome to the Jungle, Jobright
- ATS platforms: Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, Taleo, SmartRecruiters, BambooHR, JazzHR, Jobvite, ADP, SuccessFactors, UKG, Ashby
- Our services: resumebs.com, ai-ats-sim-production.up.railway.app
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Access and Control
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data we have about you by logging into resumebs.com
- Update: Modify your profile information at any time
- Delete: Request complete account deletion (email us at support@resumebs.com)
- Export: Download your data in a portable format (JSON/CSV)
- Withdraw Consent: Turn off "Share usage statistics" in the Extension popup at any time
7.2 Data Portability
Upon request, we will provide your data in a machine-readable format (JSON) within 30 days.
7.3 Account Deletion
To delete your account:
- Email us at support@resumebs.com with subject "Delete My Account"
- We will confirm your identity and process deletion within 30 days
- All your data will be permanently deleted (cannot be recovered)
- Usage statistics carry a random install ID rather than your account, so account deletion does not reach them. The install ID is not linked to your account and is not shown to you, so we cannot tell which statistics are yours or delete them one install at a time. To stop sending them, turn off “Share usage statistics” in the Extension popup or remove the extension. Removing the extension deletes its install ID; a new install gets a new one.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The Extension itself does not use cookies. However, when you visit resumebs.com, we use:
- Essential Cookies: For authentication and session management
- Analytics: To understand how users interact with our service (details in our main privacy policy)
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may limit functionality.
9. Children's Privacy
Resume Boost is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately at support@resumebs.com.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. We use secure, encrypted connections and comply with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA).

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under GDPR:
- Right to access your personal data

10.2 CCPA Compliance (California Users)

- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

We implement industry-standard security measures:

Note: No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will:
- Notify you via email (if you have an account)
- Display a prominent notice in the Extension
- Require you to accept the new policy before continuing to use the Extension
